Serena earned a B.S in biochemistry and a minor in microbiology from the University of Washington in Seattle. She was a post-baccalaureate at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development before joining the neuroscience training program and the Hoon Lab in 2020.

- Thoughts on the Retina: I’d like to thank my own retina, for letting me visualize confocal images of the retina, allowing me to better understand the complex connections that make up the retina.
